Act and React

Act and React
Project Act and React is an educational program first implemented in 2015. and in 2016. in partnership with Asociation PaRiter and financed by Ministery of social politics and youths. Student residents of Student home “Podmurvice” in Rijeka engaged in informal education and practical work to learn about civil society subjects such as human rights, peer violence, discrimination based on gender, sex, ethnicity, religious and sexual orientation, and all the questions insufficiently represented in the media and rarely in the center of contemporary Croatians’ society public forum.
During the regular six-month meetings, participants were encouraged to rethink and articulate attitudes towards problems and needs of their surroundings, and the creative expression in video form became a way of articulating the needs of a broader community they live in. In this way, the project significantly contributed to the increase in the active participation of youths in solving community problems.
